About East Ohio College’s Programs
How long are EOC’s programs?
East Ohio College offers a range of allied healthcare, nursing, and professional service programs that are completed in just 18 months. Each of our programs is structured to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to start successful careers in two years or less.
How much is tuition?
The final cost of tuition is dependent on the amount of federal aid, the program, and an individual’s situation. The East Ohio College financial aid* team will work closely with the student to determine their educational investment. The statement of tuition and fees can be found in the East Ohio College Course Catalog under Consumer Information.
Where are labs and clinicals located?
At EOC, we believe that hands-on training is an essential component of overall learning. Because of this, students in select allied health programs will complete labs at the East Ohio College campus in East Liverpool, Ohio. Clinical placements for nursing students are arranged with regional healthcare facilities to equip them with hands-on experience in their field.
Is East Ohio College accredited?
East Ohio College is registered with, and its programs are authorized by, the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools, Registration #1555B. East Ohio College is also accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), and the EOC Nursing program has been granted full approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
How much of EOC’s education is online?
East Ohio College’s online and online/hybrid classes make balancing personal life with education easier. Coursework is completed online, and then student nurses attend in-person labs and clinical rotations at regional healthcare facilities throughout the 18-month program.
Clinical Medical Assistant and Dental Assisting programs require EOC students to participate in several in-person labs throughout the program. Allied healthcare and professional services program students will complete an externship experience toward the end of their program that requires an in-person commitment.
Do I need to be logged in at a certain time daily?
East Ohio College’s virtual courses are completed synchronously, meaning that all students in a class move through the course together. However, online coursework can be completed at a student’s convenience, offering some flexibility in scheduling. There may be instances where a student must join a scheduled meeting with their instructor or program director; however, the majority of coursework can be completed at any time, from anywhere.
About EOC’s Admissions Process
What can I use to study for the TEAS exam?
The EOC admissions team can provide a list of free resources available online for preparation to take the TEAS exam. Additionally, East Ohio College’s sister school, West Virginia Junior College (WVJC), offers a free two-week online TEAS Prep Course for students who take the exam and do not receive passing scores on their first attempt.
Do I need any prerequisites before enrolling?
East Ohio College employs a direct admission model, meaning that students who are accepted into their program of choice will begin taking classes related to their field of study immediately. This eliminates the need for unnecessary general education or prerequisite courses.

About EOC’s Financial Aid Process

An EOC financial aid team member will assess your individual situation based on information gathered during the FAFSA and will build a plan that works best to finance your education.
Can previous credits be transferred from another institution?
East Ohio College recognizes that students may have attended other institutions before joining EOC and would like to have those courses recognized, whenever possible, to avoid unnecessary repetition. Students who have potential transfer credits must obtain an official transcript from the prior institution, and it will be evaluated by a member of the academic team to determine eligibility.
