This supportive learning environment not only enhances your academic experience but also builds your confidence as you move closer to achieving your career goals.
As you near graduation, our Career Management Services team will support you with a range of resources to help you transition into the workforce. These include support in the areas of resume development, interview coaching, and more. At East Ohio College, your success is our top priority.
Accelerated Training
A significant benefit of attending East Ohio College is that our programs can be completed in two years or less. EOC offers direct admission, which means students don’t need to take unnecessary prerequisite courses. All coursework will be career-focused, enabling students to avoid spending four to six years completing their degree, allowing them to enter the workforce quickly.
Another benefit is that all programs are either fully online or a combination of online/hybrid. EOC offers training programs in nursing, medical assisting, medical office administration, medical coding, dental assisting, cybersecurity, and business administration.
Hands-On Skills
We know that hands-on training allows students to become more comfortable in their skills, which is why our curriculum incorporates many opportunities to practice these skills in real work environments throughout every program.
Students enrolled in certain Allied Health programs are required to participate in hands-on lab experiences designed to sharpen their clinical skills. These labs are designed to simulate real-world healthcare settings, allowing students to practice the techniques they’ve learned during their online classes. Guided by experienced instructors, students are given the opportunity to practice and improve upon their skills. As they near the end of their program, all Allied Health students complete an externship, and the student and career services work together to find a good fit. This allows them to gain valuable experience in an actual healthcare setting.
Students enrolled in one of our Nursing programs also participate in hands-on lab sessions, as well as clinical experiences. In the lab, nursing students develop essential skills in a controlled, simulated healthcare environment, practicing everything from Foley catheterization and IV insertion to wound care and patient assessments. These labs provide a safe space to improve their skills. During their clinical rotations, students work alongside medical professionals at regional healthcare facilities, caring for real patients under supervision. These experiences are crucial for bridging the gap between classroom learning and professional nursing practice, ensuring graduates are well-prepared.
We understand that hands-on experience is key to building confidence and competence in your practical skills. That’s why our programs are designed to include in-person opportunities for students to apply what they’ve learned in real-world settings. Through practical training in simulated or actual work environments, you’ll gain the experience to prepare for your future career.
