Gain Hands-On Experience
At East Ohio College, providing students with hands-on experience as a part of their education is an integral part of our academic programs. Throughout their program, our students will complete classroom and lab experiences, clinical rotations, and an externship where they will have the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in a hands-on setting. Toward the end of each program, students will work with East Ohio’s career management team to arrange an externship with a potential employer in the field. The combination of these experiences will demonstrate to employers that you have relevant experience working in the field.
Earn Industry Certifications
Another advantage of attending East Ohio College is that our programs are designed to prepare students to sit for industry-specific certification exams. Earning certifications* demonstrates to potential employers that you have been evaluated by a third-party organization and meet the industry standard.
Upon graduation from any of EOC’s allied health programs, you will be qualified to sit for certain National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification* exams. Students in our Nursing programs will be prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN^ exam. Students in our business and cybersecurity training programs are also eligible to take certain industry-specific certification exams.

Students in our Clinical Medical Assistant and Dental Assisting programs can expect to complete their classes and coursework on our user-friendly virtual platform, then attend several weekend clinicals at our campus in East Liverpool, OH. Students in our Medical Office Administration, Medical Coding, Business Administration, and Cybersecurity programs will complete coursework online, including interactive simulations.
Students enrolled in any of our online programs can expect personalized support and guidance from our experienced career management team, as well as the opportunity to complete an externship at a regional employer toward the end of their program.
East Ohio College also offers an accelerated online/hybrid Nursing program. What is an accelerated nursing program, and how long is an accelerated nursing program? An accelerated nursing program is an intensive educational option designed to help students become Registered Nurses^ more quickly than a traditional nursing program. EOC’s Nursing program allows you to complete coursework and lectures virtually while participating in in-person clinicals at regional healthcare facilities. With EOC, you’ll be ready to take your nursing boards^ in two years or less and earn an Associate Degree in Nursing.
