Increasing Demand for Medical Professionals
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, an estimated 1.9 million openings in the healthcare field are projected each year from 2023 to 2033. While this estimate represents a national average, needs vary by state and region. This is a much faster growth rate than many other occupations, making healthcare a potentially lucrative field.
As more people utilize healthcare services, local employers must keep up with the increasing demand for qualified medical professionals. Hospitals, doctor’s offices, laboratories, clinics, and other medical facilities need employees with the education, certifications, hands-on skills, and experience to care for patients. East Ohio College recognizes this demand and is committed to training well-rounded healthcare professionals.
Many prominent medical organizations are beginning to consolidate with smaller, private healthcare facilities to provide technology, specialists, and access to rural areas. This can create new opportunities for those in the medical field to potentially better-paying jobs, more opportunities for advancement, and the ability to care for patients in their communities.
