Meet Admissions Team Member Seven Surack
East Ohio College is thrilled to welcome Seven Surack as its newest admissions officer. Seven is passionate about helping people achieve their educational goals and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his new role.
Seven’s educational journey began at Indiana University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts in 2018. This well-rounded degree has equipped him with the skills to effectively communicate and connect with prospective students.
Prior to joining East Ohio College, Seven’s professional experience spanned various roles in the staffing and recruiting industry. He served as a lead recruiter for national field projects at a political staffing agency, a regional recruiter at Next Level, a healthcare staffing firm, and a staffing manager at Randstad, a manufacturing recruiting company. These diverse experiences have honed his ability to identify and attract talented individuals to the right opportunities.
Now, as the newest member of the East Ohio College admissions team, Seven is eager to put his skills to work in a role that aligns with his personal values. “I wanted to do something that creates a positive impact on people’s lives and my community,” he explains. “Working in admissions at East Ohio College allows me to do just that.”
One of Seven’s favorite aspects of his new position is the opportunity to help students achieve their goals and dreams. “Knowing that I am helping people reach their full potential is incredibly rewarding,” he says. “It’s a privilege to be a part of their educational journey.”
Seven’s first memorable experience at East Ohio College was conducting his very first virtual tour and the subsequent application that followed. “It was exciting to connect with a prospective student and guide them through the application process,” he recalls. “Seeing their enthusiasm and determination was truly inspiring.”
What drives Seven in his work is a desire to leave a positive mark on the world and the people around him. “I am motivated by a desire to make a difference,” he explains. “Whether it’s helping a student find the right program or supporting a colleague, I strive to have a positive impact in all that I do.”
When he’s not on campus, Seven enjoys a variety of hobbies that allow him to unwind and recharge. He is an avid reader, a skilled musician who plays guitar, piano, and drums, and an outdoor enthusiast who loves to hike. He also finds solace in singing and meditation, which help him maintain a balanced and centered mindset.
One little-known fact about Seven is that he had the unique opportunity to meet the President of the United States, as well as the Secretary of State at the time. “It was a surreal experience,” he admits, “but I may have accidentally annoyed the Secret Service by leaving my backpack sitting around.”
As Seven settles into his new role at East Ohio College, the campus community is excited to see the positive impact he will have on the lives of students. With his passion for education, his diverse professional experience, and his genuine desire to make a difference, Seven is poised to be an invaluable asset to the admissions team and the college as a whole.
