Prior to attending East Ohio, Dental Assisting graduate, Daniele Fayad, graduated from Pittsburgh Technical College with an associate degree in Business Administration and Management. She states that, at that point in her life, she really did not know what she wanted in life or what she wanted to do. Daniele quickly determined that business was not the right path for her in her first job after graduating. As a mother, she knew she needed a school that fit her career goals but was also convenient. She was immediately attracted to East Ohio’s Dental Assisting program, “I have always had an interest in teeth and loved going to the dentist as a kid. I chose Dental Assisting because I have always been extremely interested in teeth, oral hygiene, and how both can affect a person’s overall health.” The campus’s close proximity to her house was an added bonus.
As a student, Daniele went above and beyond to succeed academically. She was also very involved in community and campus events. Her favorite part of attending East Ohio, however, was her instructors, classmates that became great friends, and the small class sizes. Daniele states that she “can’t pick a favorite teacher. They all are great instructors and genuinely kind people.” Daniele’s favorite class was Dental Materials where she got to make dental impressions, whitening trays, and mouth guards.
Upon graduation, Daniele added Nationally Registered Certified Dental Assistant to her list of credentials which includes being Ohio Radiology licensed and CPR and First Aid Certified. She also started her dream job in her field. Currently, she is a dental assistant with Dentistry for Children and Teens. “I am extremely fortunate to have a job in my field! It is my ideal job. It is close to home and I get to work with children and teens!”
Daniele recommends others to East Ohio without reservation because she “felt that every teacher and fellow student at East Ohio was kind and welcoming. The class sizes are not too big, so it is not overwhelming, and you do not get lost in the crowd. The teachers are always willing to spend extra time with you to help you better understand something.”
Daniele was a wonderful addition to the OVCT family and our faculty and staff are so happy to see her excel and achieve her career goals.
