Brittni Jordan is a recent graduate of the Clinical Medical Assistant program at East Ohio College (EOC). Her educational journey began at a couple of other institutions, which provided a great foundation and served a great purpose in her life.
Brittni decided to enroll at East Ohio College because the online program was a good fit for her home routine. The class schedules were convenient. Prior to enrolling in college, she worked as a medical secretary at a local health department. However, she decided to end her employment there because the department lacked adequate staffing for immunizations and reproductive health services.
Brittni chose the medical assisting training program because she wanted to build an educational foundation that would lead to a career in which she could assist healthcare providers in a high-volume atmosphere and help ensure patients obtain the top-level quality care they deserve.
When asked what her favorite part of attending East Ohio College was, Brittni stated it was the easy online access to her coursework and the fact that she could refer to her digital textbooks at any time.
In addition, she complimented the dedicated faculty who played an important role in her success. Kristen Scott was one instructor who stood out. She was her favorite instructor. Mrs. Scott ensured the students had all the necessary resources to fully understand the content. Mrs. Scott also did an outstanding job of modifying difficult content and presenting it in a way that was easy to understand.
Looking ahead, Brittni remains open to various career possibilities that fit her lifestyle. When asked what her ideal career would be, she stated that she would like to find a part-time contracted position working in a lab. She is interested in this type of position because it would align well with her personal life and busy schedule. When she envisions her life five years from now, Brittni has a clear picture of her aspirations. She would love a life balanced between her family, work, and self-care.
Reflecting on her experiences, Brittni highly recommends East Ohio College to others seeking a flexible and supportive learning environment. The college’s commitment to helping students overcome obstacles and its emphasis on individual growth sets it apart. Brittni is grateful for the resources and assistance available to students and the great job East Ohio College does in making sure the students succeed. Beyond her academic pursuits, Brittni enjoys reading psychological thrillers, traveling, listening to music, and shopping.
